Other Sectors

Hosking Associates supports the health, safety, and environmental needs of office-based sectors, contractors, engineers, SPVs

Our work in the property/facilities sectors and with schools brings us into contact with a variety of other sectors including contractors & engineers who provide valued services in respect of design, maintenance and repair.

Depending on the precise scope our initial review looks at current standards of Health & Safety, Food Safety and/or Environmental Management from which an action plan is created. From here clients can choose to implement findings themselves or continue with our support to implement or refresh their safety or environmental management system and arrangements.

We work with a variety of office-based businesses including accountants, legal firms, help-desk operators, recruitment consultants.

We work to develop policies, setup and maintain safety & environmental arrangements, provide training as needed, and encourage clients to make wise risk-based decisions. Many of our existing office based clients have gone on to achieve ISO standards.

We offer assistance and support to contractors & engineers where they require guidance in working safely and sustainably. Also, when a response to tenders, or development of their safety or Environmental management arrangements is required.

We have worked with engineering organisations to assist their design teams with creating risk assessments for work equipment supplied to leading supermarket chains, implemented CDM15 standards for all duty holders and created strong self-checking systems so individuals take greater responsibility for their safety and the safety of those around them. We can ensure these organisations meet the standards required by SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement.)

Where initial work is required to ensure contractors achieve relevant SSiP status this will be undertaken first. This work will then contribute to the initial review which is undertaken for all clients.

We have worked with SPVs to ensure safety management is incorporated into the work that they undertake within the public sector.

This includes acting as an external advisor to the SPV, ensuring responsibilities are assigned and auditing at all stages of a project.
