Industry expert Louise Hosking keen to embrace opportunities presented by the three-year VP term
Following a successful first year in office, Louise Hosking, Chartered safety and health practitioner and managing director of Hosking Associates, has been re-elected Vice President (VP) of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). The appointment marks the start of a voluntary three-year term, effective from September 2018.
“It is an honour to have been elected to a three-year term, which will give me the opportunity to promote action and positive change within the profession. I look forward to working alongside new President Vincent Ho who is based in Hong Kong, newly elected President-Elect Andrew Sharman and working alongside my fellow Vice Presidents.”
VPs support the work of the elected President. Their ambassadorial role is geared around promoting IOSH campaigns and strategic activities, as well as representing and speaking on behalf of the organisation to the media and at key events.
During her first year in office, Louise Hosking has worked to promote the message around workplace health and wellbeing. In particular, this has involved promoting inclusion, equality and diversity work within the Institution visiting branches across the UK and Ireland and hosting conferences.
Louise continues to chair the IOSH Chiltern Branch where, along with a team of dedicated members, regular events are hosted to support local safety and health practitioners and also local businesses. Louise is also a member of the IOSH Consultancy Group Committee, which supports and provides resources for members who work as consultants. Louise said:
