Meet the team

Louise Hosking

Louise Hosking MD, Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner

Over the last 29 years in this industry I have learnt the importance of great customer service, providing effective OSH leadership and removing the fear felt by business and their employees to make strong decisions. We build extremely close relationships with all our clients, implementing arrangements which are practical and workable. When standards are raised, it has a positive effect across the whole organisation. Employees take greater responsibility; feeling more engaged in the process whilst owners and managers feel more in control. We are there for the journey and we do it with personality!

I volunteer with IOSH and was extremely honoured and proud to be elected to the presidential team as an IOSH Vice-President in November 2017. In October 2020 I was elected to President-Elect and will become President in the Autumn of 2021.

Outside of OSH I look forward to an annual Sailing Holiday with my husband who grew up sailing a mirror dinghy on the Solent and is now teaching me the ropes! I love long summer cycle rides. One day I hope to cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats. I like finishing the working week with a G&T, and spending time with my incredible circle of friends who live in the UK and overseas.

Claire Wood

Claire Wood Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner

Adding value and providing assurance are core key drivers for me in supporting a business’s health and safety management. Through competent, pragmatic advice and guidance gained from a highly successful career working in sectors such as retail, property management, construction and environmental health, I can ensure a business gets to where it wants to be. Health and safety is a diverse and fascinating field from which I believe with the right support any organisation can achieve business focussed solutions to help its health and safety flourish sustainably and economically.

Alongside working in health and safety, family, friends, travel and wellbeing are also my passions. At the moment I’m on an amazing/terrifying adventure bringing up my two small children, but I also love seeing new places and driving a tuk tuk across India a few years ago will take some beating; I’m up for the challenge though!

Jo Pearce

Jo Pearce Safety and Health Practitioner

My background is in Facilities Management where I spent many years managing properties for a multi-site distribution company.  Further roles continued to expand my experience and knowledge of Health & Safety, from a business school in a Grade 1 listed property to a production engineering company.

I’m an advocate for simplicity and Health & Safety really doesn’t have to be complicated.  Effective measures taken to meet compliance can bring efficiency to any business and make it both a safe and pleasurable environment for employees to work.

I’m a trustee for a charity and volunteer for the local dog rescue centre where I help with fundraising events.  I love the countryside and holidays are usually taken exploring the Lake District or Scottish Highlands where I could walk for miles taking in the breath-taking scenery.

As a highly driven, competent and dedicated individual I enjoy immersing myself in new industries and looking at what I can bring to the business. With excellent project management skills, I’m naturally organised and meticulous in my approach. I’m a creative thinker and problem solver with a keen eye for detail.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my young family. We especially love escaping to the mountains for some skiing. When we’re not in the mountains, we like to walk, swim, cycle or simply play in the garden together.

Philippa Goodfield

Philippa Goodfield Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner

With 18 years experience in Health and Safety within the Property, Waste, and Transport industries, I offer all aspects of safety and environmental consultancy from safety management system implementation, auditing, risk assessments and general or bespoke training courses.  My driving force is to ensure businesses comply with relevant health and safety legislation in a manner which becomes natural and involves all levels of staff, and helping people to see the true benefit of good safety management.

When not working, I like to keep fit and have a passion for cycling, scuba diving, and horseback riding.

Ike Aigbogun

Ike Aigbogun Safety and Health Practitioner

Health and Safety Manager with 12 years of experience working in various sectors including non-profits, education, architecture and hospitality, in Nigeria and the UK. I specialise in designing and creating processes and safety systems, as well as training design and delivery.

My approach to safety management is simple, practical and realistic. I believe it is important that as safety professionals, we are versatile and innovative enough to manage safety in non-conventional ways especially where textbook solutions may not work or are inapplicable.

I’m an avid writer and author of a school safety book. I’ve been blogging and writing for over 8 years on health and safety matters and more recently, on digital skills and safety technology.

Outside of work, I study, research and write. I like to do the occasional Netflix binge, and love discovering and eating at nice and quirky restaurants; and take pictures of their food – Hackney and Shoreditch have the best of them.

Ellie Palmer

Ellie Palmer Intern

A motivated and eager student, I am currently studying a BA in History, at the University of Nottingham. I have enjoyed the first year immensely, meeting new people and learning widely. I have particularly liked developing my knowledge of non-Eurocentric history.

I am very much enjoying working at Hosking Associates, learning many skills that will be invaluable for my future career. I started at the beginning of April, shortly after the COVID-19 lockdown. Although I haven’t been able to meet the team face to face they have really supported me and made me feel welcome. The experience is absorbing and I feel I have been introduced into the working world.

In my spare time, I enjoy keeping active and socialising with my friends. I like reading and films. I also have a passion for travel.

Liz Horrigan

Liz Horrigan Office Support

After finally stepping away from the rush/smog/hustle and bustle of the City where I spent over 30 years working in the Business Support sector in some of the top law firms, providing first-class Executive Assistant support to lawyers – from trainees to senior partners, I decided to try something completely new, and here I am at Hosking Associates!  Everyone here really does show the true meaning of the word ‘team’ and, thankfully, although I am like a child learning to walk when it comes to health & safety, I have some great teachers.  I really enjoy learning all about health and safety – who knew it could be so interesting!

In my spare time, I like to travel – who doesn’t like a minibreak! I pretend I know the first thing about gardening, and of course spending quality time with family and friends.
